This approach gives UK patients with the highest risk of relapsing early (within 18 months of treatment) the opportunity to receive more intensive treatments not currently available through the NHS, to help improve remission times. By tailoring treatment to patient-specific risk profiles, clinicians could optimise patient care, reduce the risk of early relapse, and increase life expectancy.
