Module 10 – Living well with Myeloma

Summary of module

This module discusses the impact of living with myeloma focusing on the emotional, psychological and social effect it can have on patients and their families. Living and feeling well is a goal for all myeloma patients but much like myeloma itself, quality of life considerations are highly individual. They extend beyond physical factors alone and generally change over time.

Here the roles of the key healthcare professional groups involved in supporting people with myeloma and their families during both periods of treatment and when in remission are discussed. Alongside supportive therapies, educating and informing people living with myeloma of self-management strategies allows them to gain a sense of control of their own health and develop approaches to help best cope with all aspects of living with myeloma.
