These guidelines, produced by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), set out new recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of myeloma patients, including those with smouldering myeloma, in individuals aged 16 and above.
The aim is to provide consistently excellent, patient-focused care within the NHS in England by promoting the most effective tests and treatments for myeloma and its complications.
Update information October 2018: Recommendations 1.8.13 to 1.8.17 were replaced by NICE’s guideline on venous thromboembolism in over 16s.
