Myeloma UK has published three new free treatment guides, continuing to improve essential patient information and treatment support for people living with myeloma:

These comprehensive resources provide essential information on how each treatment works, how it is administered, and any potential side effects and key safety considerations.

Expanding access to new treatments

The Myeloma UK Advocacy team were involved in multiple appraisals and appeals throughout 2024. They worked extensively to get each of these therapies approved, securing access for those who need them most. Ensuring patients can benefit from new treatment options requires this dedicated advocacy.

Helping patients make informed decisions

To support patients in understanding their treatment options, the Myeloma UK Patient Information team has developed these guides to cover:

  • How each treatment fits into the myeloma pathway – what the treatment is, how it works, when it is used and what patients can expect.
  • Practical treatment details – how it is administered and key considerations during treatment.
  • Managing side effects – strategies to help patients cope with common reactions.
  • Safety precautions – including medication interactions and when to seek medical advice.

By providing clear and accessible information, these guides help patients to be more prepared and have confidence in their treatment journey. They can also support conversations with your patients, giving you a useful framework to explain treatment options and guide decision-making.

Accessing the guides

The new treatment guides for elranatamab, teclistamab, and selinexor are available to view and download online. Free physical copies can also be ordered via our Order Form, alongside a wide range of other Myeloma UK patient information resources.
