As a healthcare professional, you know that alongside the benefit of any treatment plan, there’s a practical impact and daily challenges for patients to face. You are there to manage the difficulties of treatment-related side effects that can impact a persons’ every day. You support people through the difficult questions and help them make trade-offs between their quality of life and a good clinical outcome.
You also recognise the hope that research and clinical trials can bring and have the experience to help shape the future of myeloma research so that we move towards kinder treatments, better quality of life for people living with myeloma and ultimately, a cure.
If this sounds familiar, join Myeloma UK’s Research Advisory Group.
Being part of Myeloma UK’s Research Advisory Group is a real privilege, allowing me to bring my frontline experience as a physiotherapist directly into research funding decisions. It’s incredibly rewarding to work with an organisation that shares the same goal as I do which is to ensure there is a clear line of sight from research investment to improved outcomes and quality of life for people affected by myeloma.
Joanne Sowter, Clinical Specialist Myeloma Physiotherapist and current RAG member
